Symbol--An object, character, item that has more than its mere exsistence in the text.  Recurring though not always.  Focus on a particular item. Consistent with text.  Find a symbol in F451--Pg and pg #, explanation.
  Chalk talk about symbols in the book.  put on white board and then class discussed them.

  Format of test: Fill in blank/super short answers (factual)  Short essays (3/5).  
Discussed elements of the hero’s journey template.  Broke into groups to see if Fahrenheit 451 fit into the template.
Call to action: Montag’s realizing he doesn’t like his life.  Asks wife where they met. pg. 42.  Talking to Clarisse, pg. 21 and 22.

9-12-11   Folders for course work.  All work should go into them to be handed in at end of semester.   RWR-Reading-Writing-Response from tonites reading.  Library project starts tomorrow.  Meet in library for research of Utopian society.   In journal draw the “hound” as you see it.  It show of aggression against Montag shows he is different.
